The name Gaston is inspired by our co-founder Carl Sundqvist’s childhood friend, while Luga, short for “luggage”, is an acronym for Light Urban Global Accessory.
Whilst travelling around Asia, Sundqvist noticed that he needed a more convenient, practical and contemporary bag to carry his laptop, passport and other belongings.
Since he had beena lifelong sneakerhead, his idea was to make a backpack as coveted as a pair of collectable sneakers or a rare art piece. In 2017 this idea became a reality when the first backpack was made.
